AI skills test for employees: what we measure, by work area
An AI test at AISkillProof is not a knowledge quiz. Employees get tasks from their normal work: drafting a customer email with AI, checking an AI summary against its source, deciding which data may go into which tool. Below are all the standard tests you can assign to your team.
Short answer
AISkillProof has 44 standard tests in English, each also in Dutch and French. They measure six AI skills with work tasks: AI basics, giving clear instructions, mastering the tool, judging AI answers, automating work and handling rules and data safely. You see results per employee and per department, and a retest shows what improved.
How a test works
Tasks from real work
Emails, quotes, invoices, minutes and customer data from a Belgian SME. No theory questions about how a language model works.
The same test for everyone
Everyone in a department gets the same tasks, so results compare fairly. The test measures skills, not people.
Report and retest
After the test the employee gets targeted lessons. A second measurement shows what changed: your evidence of measures taken for Article 4 of the AI Act.
All standard tests
Grouped by work area. Level 1 is for people starting with AI, level 3 for people who use AI daily or manage assistants.

AI instructions for purchasing, planning and product texts
Level 2 · approx. 15 min · 8 tasks
A simulation around supplier quotes, a planning update, product texts for the webshop and a quarterly overview. You give the AI the right material, split large tasks up, correct it precisely and notice when a result says more than the source.
Privacy, data and rules
Which data may go into which AI tool, GDPR, spotting AI fraud and being open about AI use.
Data protection and access rights with AI

Questions about the AI test
How long does an AI test take?
Most tests take between 10 and 35 minutes. The duration is shown next to each test and depends on the number and type of tasks.
Which languages are the tests in?
Every standard test exists in English, Dutch and French. Employees choose their language and the report stays comparable.
Does the test measure knowledge or skill?
Skill. Employees carry out tasks as they meet them at work, such as reviewing an AI draft or turning a vague request into a clear one. The result shows what someone does, not what they remember.
Does the test work with ChatGPT, Copilot or Gemini?
The general tests work for any AI tool. There are separate tests for Microsoft 365 Copilot and Copilot Studio. For other tools or your own software we build a custom test.
Can I use the test for job applicants?
Yes. On request we set up a test for candidates, with the same tasks for everyone. A person always decides about a candidate, not the test.
Does the AI Act require an AI test?
No. Article 4 asks you to take measures for your staff's AI literacy and to be able to show them. A measurement with a retest is strong evidence of those measures.
